It's not often there’s a song that just makes me want to weep for hours it
is so beautiful – this current version by Serena Ryder on her new CD “If your memory
serves you well” has me completely distracted. It’s eerie, loud electric guitar is a refreshing
interpretation of an anti-war anthem from the 1950s; be dazzled if you catch her current tour.
Serena’s passionate performances are deeply spiritual; as if each song is the only
and last thing on earth she will ever do.
Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream
words and music by Ed McCurdy
Last night I had the strangest dream I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed To put an end to warI dreamed I saw a mighty room Filled with women and menAnd the paper they were signing said They'd never fight againAnd when the paper was all signed And a million copies madeThey all joined hands and bowed their heads And grateful pray'rs were prayedAnd the people in the streets below Were dancing 'round and 'roundWhile swords and guns and uniforms Were scattered on the groundLast night I had the strangest dream I'd never dreamed beforeI dreamed the world had all agreed To put an end to war.©1950,1951 & 1955 Almanac Music, Inc.
